Tourism.

Due to the characteristics of the wind and waves in this small fishermen’s town, it became the best place in the whole island to go windsurfing, where world-class competitions have been held.

It has such good conditions that at El Médano bay there are three different areas for “windsurfers” and each of them has its own peculiarities, namely:

At Cabezo beach, to the north, good waves are produced but if the wind is too strong it becomes a little bit dangerous due to the proximity of the dock.

El Médano beach, at the foot of the mountain, has fine dark sand, which is perfect for sailing with a strong wind, windsurfing and jumping, while the Pier is situated between these two beaches being the best-oriented wave spot as trade winds blow in parallel with the waves.

Additionally, all the necessary conditions are available to serve visitors well, including academies to teach windsurfing basic knowledge to those who wish to challenge the waves.
